frootcake is an agency born out of the need for better representation and advocacy for LGBTQ+ performers on the stand up comedy circuit

after years of being told that it was too difficult to book LGBTQ+ acts and that diverse line ups were too much hassle, Red set out to prove that not only we inclusive line ups important to book morally, but they were necessary for the industry to thrive

so on a one person mission Red started booking the best and most diverse line ups as part of their job as the in-house comedy promoter for an infamous

Sheffield venue

5 years down the line with the industry expertise and knowledge combined with Kate's love of a spreadsheet frootcake arrived onto the scene

Jonathan Mayor is a staple of the Manchester performance scene making regular appearances not only on the stand up circuit but also at various queer or black minority events and theatre shows and performances

Jonathan Mayor is one of the UK’s most in-demand headline acts and compères. One of Sarah Millican’s favourite opening acts having performed official tour support for her, Jonathan has been seen on Hollyoaks, heard on BBC Radio 4 and hosted numerous LGBT+ events all over the UK

Hot off the heels of a leading role in one of Manchester’s finest Pantomimes. Jonathan played his Dame ‘Nurse Wilma Fingerdoo’ at Contact Theatre to rave reviews: “has the whole audience in stitches… The star of the show” ILoveManchester.com. More recently Jonathan has appeared at London’s Vault Festival where he performed his debut "dazzling, sharp and hilarious" one-man theatre show: Varnish (★★★★★ Binge Fringe)

Having performed at Gilded Balloon in Edinburgh in the So You Think You're Funny heats and at the Liverpool Comedy Festival, Jonathan was also a finalist in the City Life North West Comedian of the Year Award 2002. Jonathan Mayor is a class act, a safe pair of hands and a dab hand at Pride events having appeared at Manchester Pride hosting Manchester's Candlelit AIDS Vigil, EuroPride, GlasGay Arts Festival, Homotopia Arts Festival, Queer Up North and The Great British Bear Bash.

Liverpool’s finest comedy queen since Lily Savage. Destined for the big time, Eddie’s humour is dark, distasteful but above all, absolutely hilarious.

Fresh from a string of sold-out one-man theatre shows across the North West, including a packed out homecoming show at Liverpool’s Royal Court Theatre, Eddie Fortune's penchant for the dramatic launched him onto the stand up scene and has given him a reputation of being not only one of the finest working comics of the moment, but also an incredible story teller and writer.

Eddie is quite prolific on TikTok with a number of his sketches and videos going viral. Eddie has been credited with being the leader of the Karen meme movement and certainly looking at his content his contribution to this has been vast, which lead to Eddie's most recent show "Karen". This winter Eddie will be taking out his newest show Single which is already selling out venues in Liverpool and Manchester.

Eddie is resident MC for a number of regular LGBT+ Comedy Nights that help platform Queer talent at all levels. He is fiercely supportive of fellow comedians from our wider community and we believe his style would suit pride festivals all over the north west.

Eddie French is an award-winning non-binary comedian, improviser and podcaster with over 10 years experience. Eddie has established themself as one of the most formidable acts on Yorkshire’s comedy circuit. Based in Leeds, Eddie has performed at 4 consecutive Edinburgh Fringe Festivals. They are the co-host of Punk Rock Elite podcast which currently averages over 100 downloads per episode.

Eddie has performed and taught improvised comedy across the country. Most notably as an apart of Leeds Discount Comedy Checkout - Winners of ‘Best National Show’ at Morecambe Fringe 2020.

Make way for the People’s Bush, Lady Bushra of Bradford. The OG perpetual 19 year old.

Shortlisted for the 2021 BBC New Comedy Awards, Lady Bushra is the brainchild of British Asian comedian Amir Dean. Originally from Bradford, West Yorkshire, Amir created Lady Bushra, an outspoken, hilarious drag persona who’ll tell you a story or seven if you join her for an evening of hilarity at one of her many shows across the UK.

Lady Bushra is known for her stand-up comedy, ingenious lip-sync performances and scathing one-liners. You can catch Bushra at one of her sold-out ‘Drag Comedy Cabaret’ in Manchester, London, at to be honest, wherever this queen feels like going.

Whilst originally from Bradford, Lady Bushra isn’t scared to get out and across the pond , spreading a bit of Bollywood style wherever she goes, having toured across America, Canada and this year making the journey to LA for DragCon!

This clever mix of South Asian sensibilities blended with British humour has made Lady Bushra an instant hit, allowing Amir to perform his act to sold out shows all over the UK and internationally.

Discovered by Mark Watson on Twitter, Welsh stand up Vix Leyton is a natural story teller with a keen eye for observation combining warm, whimsical charm with biting wit. She is also an award winning personal finance expert and PR hustler. You might have heard of her but you’re not sure why; it could be at your local comedy club but it’s equally likely she could be commenting on the best meal deal combo on the BBC or introducing the week’s best deals on Channel 4's Steph’s Packed Lunch....

Or telling you how to get all your money back on a rip off holiday down the pub.

Her kitchen table panel show podcast “The Comedy Arcade” is both and audio success and compelling live show; a Nextup favourite receiving a nomination for Leicester Comedy’s Best Podcast in 2021 and racking up sell out shows at Edinburgh Fringe last year with Udderbelly. She also co-hosts spending show “False Economy”, interviewing some of the biggest names on how they spend it.

A Funny Women semi-finalist and a promoter on her own right, Vix’s stages blend grass roots with the already established which can be see at her infamous Church gig “Have I Got Pews for You”.

And as if all this weren’t enough, Vix also writes as a columnist for the Voices section of The Independent.
